You really are spoilt for choice. Norfolk is a wonderfully diverse county with lots of things to see and do, both for children and adults. Right on the doorstep, about a four minute walk away, is a lovely, safe beach. It is an uncommercialised area at South Beach with just a cafe and a couple of beach side stalls and then miles of unspoiled beach. Heacham Beach, although on the east coast actually faces west and sees wonderful sunsets at all times of the year.
Just up the road is the world famous Norfolk Lavender with their lavender gardens and Lavender Oil Distillery, National Lavender Collection and Herb Garden. A short drive away (or energetic walk along the beach) is Hunstanton with all the attractions of the traditional seaside town: and of course the Queen' Official Residence Sandringham is about a ten minute drive away.
Within easy striking distance are the ever popular seaside towns of Wells-Next-The-Sea and Cromer (crabs anyone?). But with its outstanding coastline and beautiful rolling countryside, so many people come to West Norfolk to enjoy some wonderful walking routes, or take to their bike to explore the countryside. Alternatively there are great opportunities for horse riding.
Renowned throughout Britain, the special environment of West Norfolk provides some of the finest nature reserves in the country and outstanding opportunities for bird watching.
For fishing enthusiasts the water way networks of the Fens are a particular draw, coupled with the sea fishing opportunities along the coast. With no fewer than nine golf courses located in West Norfolk, golfers are well catered for.
With around 35 miles of coastline, the sea provides a vast playground to enjoy a variety of water sports, from sailing and jet skiing to the excitement of windsurfing, where Hunstanton offers some of the best conditions in the country for this popular sport.
West Norfolk is brim full of history and heritage to enjoy. From famous historic houses, parks and gardens, to castles, churches, museums, heritage sites and working windmills, there is a host of fascinating places to visitand things to do.
